Parliamentary Debate

No Points of Information or Points of Order.

Instead, there will be a 2 minute period after each constructive speech for Cross Examination. The order will be as follows:

Following the Prime Minister’s Speech, the MO will CX the PM.

Following the Leader of Opposition’s Speech, the PM will CX the LO.

Following the Member of Government’s Speech, the LO will CX the MG.

Following the Member of Opposition’s Speech, the MG will CX the MO.

In other words, unless you are the Member of opposition, you will cross examine the speaker whose speech comes after your speech.

Team Policy Debate

Affirmatives Must Send a copy of their 1AC to their opponent prior to the round beginning.

Before the scheduled round can start, the Affirmative team must electronically provide a copy of the 1AC they are reading to the Negative team.

Teams must be ready to email any evidence read in round for review.

If a team reads a piece of evidence in a round, they must be ready to email it at a moment’s notice should it be requested for examination by the other team in Cross Examination, or by the judge at the end of the round for review. Judges will be advised strongly to take into consideration a team’s failure to provide evidence in a timely manner.
