Essential Details

Eligibility

Any student between the ages of 11-18 is eligible, regardless of whether they competed in debate this year or not.

Events Offered

Team Policy Debate, Lincoln Douglas Debate, and Parliamentary Debate. Students may compete in all three, as long as they can meet the judging requirements and pay the registration cost.

Topics

The National Virtual Debate Championship will use the Team Policy and Lincoln Douglas reosolutions from Stoa’s 2019-20 competitive season.

TEAM POLICY: Resolved: The United States Federal Government should substantially reform its banking, finance, and/or monetary policy.

LINCOLN DOUGLAS: Resolved: Culture ought to value assimilation over multiculturalism.

This online tournament is independently sponsored by the National Institute for Homeschool Debate and Oak Brook College of Law, and is not affiliated with Stoa. This is not an official Stoa sanctioned event.

Registration Cost

$35 per participant per event.

Refund POlicy

Students can cancel their registration up to a week before the tournament for a full refund.

Software

All debates will take place online and remotely via the Zoom platform.

Refund Policy

All registrations are fully refundable until the end of the registration period, on Wednesday, April 22nd. After April 22, 2020, registrations are non-refundable.
