Meet CARTER!

Carter realized early on that most debaters make rounds too dry for the average judge to enjoy.  His strategy: communicate like a human with your judge, not a robot.  Carter aims to help his students not only craft potent strategies but also convey them in layman’s terms that all audiences can grasp.

Carter was a late arrival to the speech and debate world, joining Stoa in his Junior year (one of his biggest regrets is not having more time in stoa). But in that time, he saw great achievements. Carter has attained several undefeated records across multiple debate events as well as 1st place finishes in TP, LD, Parli, Speaks, and Extemporaneous.  Carter and his partner Noah Reid also finished the 2020-21 TP season with the highest overall win percentage of any team, and as the only 6-0 at NITOC 2021.  Carter is now competing on Union’s Varsity IPDA team (alongside many other Stoa Alumni) where he has already broken in multiple events.   Carter served as the TP coach at the ARCH debate club during his senior year and continues to coach several events privately.

Carter is currently attending Union University pursuing a BSBA in Finance.  When he’s not studying, coaching, or traveling on a tournament of his own; Carter spends his time playing piano, hiking, enjoying good coffee, or road tripping with friends.
